Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

Special Music for the Feast

Anyone who is interested in participating in special music for the Feast may contact Phyllis Bourque at bourque@q.com, who will again be coordinating this program. Choir music will be sent out to all who request it. The Feast is fast approaching, and now is a good time to be practicing, whether for choir or for individual performance.

A new StandingWatch program was posted on the Web, titled, “Israel’s Worldwide Isolation.” Israel’s deadly attack on a flotilla heading towards Gaza was met with universal condemnation. Especially Turkey has been playing a dubious role in this affair. What can we expect to happen soon?

A new German AufPostenStehen program was posted on the Web, titled, “Das liebe Geld der Kirchen” (“The Dear Money of the Churches”). The program discusses the new German austerity measures in light of the unique (and untouched) situation that the German government is paying huge amounts of money to Protestant and Catholic priests and clerics–and that in addition to the church tax (about 9% of salary) of church members, which the German government collects for and then transfers to the churches.

A new StandingWatch program was posted on the Web, “The Horror of ‘Artificial Life.'” In the program, the following was discussed: Two American scientists claim that they created artificial life with no ancestor. But the new biological science has the potential to do great harm. And what about animal cross-breeding, cloning, human-animal hybrids, nanobots and self-replicating robots? What does the Bible have to say about man’s desire to “play God”?

A new German sermon was posted on the Web, titled, “Lazarus und der Reiche” (“Lazarus and the Rich Man).”

The member letter for June has been written and will be posted shortly and sent out early next week.

A new member letter was sent out this week and has been posted on the Web. In the letter, Dave Harris is asking how we should prepare for the annual Holy Day of Pentecost, and he is cautioning all of us not to give in to complacency. We are also requesting that you set aside a day of fasting prior to Pentecost.

A new StandingWatch program was posted on the Web. It is titled, “Britain and US in Trouble!” The Times wrote on May 6–Britain’s “Election Day”–that Britain is “not going forward,” but it “may go back.” So is the USA, and the parallels are staggering. Is tragedy awaiting us? Will we face Greece-like economic turmoil and civil unrest–and even nuclear devastation? Experts tell us, “it is more likely than not to occur within the next several years”; it will come as “a compete surprise”; and we will be “grossly unprepared” to handle it!

A new StandingWatch program was posted on the Web, titled, “Is the Euro Doomed?” In light of the ongoing crisis pertaining to Greece, some have proclaimed that the eurozone will fall apart and the euro will be abolished. And what is behind Muammar al Gaddafi’s concept of a new bi-national state, called “Isratine,” and Egypt’s attempts to rally U.N. support against Israel?

It discusses the love of the Father and of Jesus Christ towards us, and the injunction to  us to manifest that some love towards others, even and especially during times of trials and suffering. It is titled, “Gottes Liebe im Leid” (“God’s Love in Trials.”)

We received an offer from YouTube regarding our “very popular [German] video” on the swine flu, Die Schweinegrippe–was man uns nicht sagt! giving us the opportunity to sign up for their partnership program and receive money with every viewing. Of course, we are not accepting the offer, but are happy about the attention we are receiving.
