“The Son of Man and of God,” is the title of the sermon given by Norbert Link this past Sabbath–here is a summary: Who was Jesus Christ when He was here on earth? Was He a Man? What He God? Was He the Son of Man and the Son of God? Was He fully God and fully Man? Was Jesus really dead? Did the Son of God die? Did Jesus overcome sin in the flesh? Was He God before He came to this earth? Is He God today? Is He our only Mediator between God the Father and man? Why was all judgment given to Him? Is it man’s potential to become God? Is the Trinity doctrine wrong—both the Greek Orthodox as well as the Roman Catholic version? What is the teaching of antichrist? 

“Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer, Teil 2,” is this week’s German sermon. It is part 2 of the new series on Hebrews and covers chapters 3-5. The title in English is: “The Epistle to the Hebrews, Part 2.”

The memorial service on Wednesday, April 24, for Mrs. Gertrude Sage (who died on March 23, 2013) began at 11 AM and was held at the VFW Pacific Beach, 853 Turquoise Street, San Diego, CA 92109-1127. Mrs. Sage was born October 13, 1927, and had been a baptized member of the Church of God for almost 19 years.

Mr. Sage’s children provided food after the morning memorial service. The afternoon funeral service (Internment) started at 2:30 pm and took place at 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Dr, San Diego, CA 92106.

Evangelist Norbert Link conducted both services, which were attended by Mr. Ralph Sage and many of Mr. and Mrs. Sage’s family members as well as members of the Church of the Eternal God and the United Church of God.

He also reminds us of the sobering truth of the meaning of world events–all of which are very clearly pointing to the imminent return of Jesus Christ!

“Allies Forsaken and Angered by US?” – While the Middle East seems to be ready to explode, the US seems to be anxious to antagonize the world and its closest allies, including Germany, Israel and the United Kingdom. An independent Israeli attack on Iran seems to draw nearer, and while Germany is not about to be lectured by the US, the British Isles are angered by the Obama Administration’s and the four surviving ex-U.S. leaders’ refusal to attend Margaret Thatcher’s funeral. All of this is quite telling and important in the light of biblical prophecy.

“What You MUST Know About European Unification” – The Bible says that after the fall of Rome, the ancient Roman Empire would be revived ten times in Europe. Nine revivals have come and gone, and the last one is happening right now. This proves that Jesus Christ’s return is near. “Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer,” is the title of this week’s new German sermon. It’s part of a new series and covers chapters 1 and 2 of the letter to the Hebrews. Title in English: “The Epistle to the Hebrews.”

The yearly conference of the Church of the Eternal God, Global Church of God (United Kingdom) and Church of God a Christian Fellowship (Canada) was conducted starting April 12 and continued through April 16. Meetings and activities were held in Fort Collins, Colorado.

During the weekly Sabbath, three men were ordained, and we are pleased to announce that Kalon Mitchell of Ramona, California, was ordained to the office of deacon; Michael Link of Ramona, California, was ordained to the office of elder; and Robb Harris of Fort Collins, Colorado, was also ordained to the office of elder.

We will announce more details about our very successful conference in our next monthly member letter.

“Jesus Christus, der Menschensohn!,” is the title of a new German sermon, which deals with Christ’s first coming as the Son of man. “Jesus Christ, the Son of Man!,”  is the English translation, and this is part of a series. The next installment will discuss Jesus as the Son of God and also address the false doctrine of the Trinity.

Mr. Link recorded five sermons while in Germany. Two have been posted. The first one is titled, “Die Doktrin des Händeauflegens.” This sermon addresses the topic of the laying on of hands and explains the purpose for and different biblical examples of laying on of hands.

The second sermon is titled “Hoffnung und Trost im Leiden” (“Hope and Comfort in Suffering”). It discusses Psalm 22 and its relevance for us today.

We are pleased to announce the baptism of Barbara Jones of Salyer, California. While attending services in Woodburn, Oregon, our minister visiting from Canada, Mr. Rene Messier, conducted the baptism.

The last Holy Day of Unleavened Bread will be observed on Monday, April 1st. (beginning Sunday at sunset, March 31). The Feast of Tabernacles in Germany will be held this year at the Hotel Birkenhof, Wildbaderstrasse 95, 72250 Freudenstadt. (Info@birkenhof-Freudenstadt.de). We have booked a hall and would recommend that attendees would also book accommodation at the hotel.   However, the hotel is booked out so that no direct bookings can be made at this point.  Nevertheless, bookings can still be made  through certain agencies. In what year did Jesus give His famous Olivet prophecy? Did He warn His disciples of a falling away from the truth just prior to His return? How can we have confidence and assurance for us and our children in light of the terrible times ahead of us? How often was Christ anointed before His death? When exactly did Jesus introduce the new Passover symbols of foot washing, bread and wine? In what year and on what day did Jesus die? How long was He buried and dead in the grave? Did He fulfill the sign that would prove that He was the Messiah? When exactly was He resurrected? When did He ascend to heaven to receive authority and power?

Norbert and Johanna Link wish to thank you for your continued prayers during their trip to Germany. After being stuck at the San Diego airport for three hours, (no explanation given, but the scheduled plane never arrived at the airport) they were able to fly with another plane to LAX, but almost missed the connecting flight to Frankfurt. Fortunately, the airline waited for them before take-off, even though they had only 10 minutes to get through security and to the gate.  They were told that if they missed the flight, they could take another one in the evening, but as it turned out, they would not have been able to, since the Frankfurt airport closed down due to bad weather in Germany. It is obvious that Satan was very busy trying to prevent them from flying into Germany, but God is mightier than Satan and saw to it that they were still able to go. Interestingly enough, Johanna was inspired to have the boarding passes printed ahead of time from the Internet; otherwise, they would not have been able to get through security in LA and would have missed the flight for sure.

We are pleased to announce that we have finalized plans for conducting this year’s Feast of Tabernacles and Last Great Day observances in Vail, Colorado. Mr. Link will give further details about reservations this coming Sabbath. We will also post details on our website–www.eternalgod.org.

The current member letter, written by Eric Rank, has been mailed this week along with our newest booklet, “Biblical Prophecy — From Now Until Forever.” In his letter, Mr. Rank reminds us of the great meaning of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, and he further encourages us to really examine ourselves as we enter this Passover season.

“Italy’s Future in Biblical Prophecy” is the new StandingWatch program presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary: Italy’s recent election results shocked the world, when “two clowns” claimed victory. But in the opinion of newscasters, Italy is still an “anchor for European integration.” It’s “a difficult beast to understand-let alone tame.” The Bible shows that Italy will play a major role within the EU and the Eurozone. It will be an indispensible part of the last revival of the ancient Roman Empire. And as Benito Mussolini was worshipped as a god, so a future “beast” and a “false prophet” will be. Time is indeed short.

This StandingWatch program will be aired on radio beginning Saturday, April 6, 2013.

“Christi Erstes Kommen, Teil 2,” is the new German sermon, the second part on Christ’s First Coming, discussing events during 31 AD. (It will be also given in English this Sabbath).

Norbert and Johanna Link are scheduled to fly to Germany on March 10th, 2013. They will visit with the attorney commissioned to register the Church in Germany, inspect the Feast site in the Black Forest and finalize the arrangements with the hotel, and visit with new people who have shown interest in the Church. Baptism counseling for several prospective members has been scheduled, and new baptisms are anticipated. A public indoor pool has been reserved for this purpose. During their stay in Germany, Norbert Link will conduct Passover services as well as services on the three weekly Sabbaths and on the two Holy Days. It is also planned to video-record the Sabbath and Holy Day services for subsequent posting on the Web. Norbert and Johanna are scheduled to return on April 2.

An initial, verbal agreement has been reached for a wonderful Feast of Tabernacles location in Vail, Colorado, following an on-site tour of the facility by David and Peggy Harris. We will let everyone know more details following completion of a contract.

Brian and Jill Gale will be leaving England to arrive in California on March 19th, 2013, to visit the brethren in Southern California. Mr. Gale will conduct Passover services in Ramona, California, as well as give sermons during his stay–which will be until April 23rd.

Rene and Delia Messier are traveling from Canada to Woodburn, Oregon. Mr. Messier will conduct Passover services and give a sermon on the First Day of Unleavened Bread.

As previously announced, our annual Church conference will be conducted in Colorado, from April 12 until April 16, 2013.

“Easter Customs and Jesus Christ,” is the title of our newest StandingWatch program–presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary: What is the origin of Easter and its customs? It covers His birth, the death of Herod, Christ in the temple as a 12 year-old boy, and Christ’s public ministry, discussing events from 27 AD until 30 AD. The second part will cover the events in 31 AD. (These two sermons will also be given in English during the next two Sabbath services in the U.S.).

Evangelist Norbert Link has recorded a new StandingWatch program, titled, “Tyranny in the USA?” Here is the summary: The Guardian speaks of the usurpation of radical and dangerous powers in the context of drone warfare. Retired General Vallely speaks of tyrannical ways of the president. Der Spiegel warns of the demise of the political order to be replaced by a global police state. Deutsche Welle accuses the US government of illegal killings of suspects without charges and trial. Senator Rand Paul accuses the government of recklessness. President Obama laments that he is only the president and not the emperor. And Time magazine warns that one day, the U.S. will bitterly regret its course of conduct. What is going on? Are we observing U.S. tyranny in the making?

This program will also be broadcast on radio, beginning Saturday, March 16, 2013, following the broadcast of the program, “Peter of Rome—The Last Black Pope?”, beginning March 9, 2013.

“The Stars Are Falling”: Fox News asked the question as to why scientists didn’t see the Russian meteorite coming. The answer is simple: There are just far too many asteroids and meteors out there, and it is estimated that 100,000 of them are likely to intersect with Earth in the future. The Bible shows that in the past, these impacts did happen, and it prophesies terrible calamities in the future.

“Europe—an Economic Power Bloc”: What does the Bible say about Europe’s future? Some have taught that Europe’s “experiment” of unification will fail, and that the euro will collapse. They are terribly wrong and don’t understand what the Bible teaches. Europe is destined to become the most powerful economic bloc in the world. It will exceed by far the United States, Great Britain, the Arab nations  or China. However, at the height of its prosperity, it will suddenly fall—but not before it has launched unparalleled persecution on true Christians.

“Europas Reichtum” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is “Europe’s Wealth!”  It covers the wealth of united Europe and its demise, as well as the prince of Tyre–or false prophet–and the persecution of Christians (similar to the sermon from last Sabbath).
