A new Member Letter (January 2020) has been written and posted and will soon be mailed to our subscribers. Elder Kalon Mitchell presents strong encouragement to not let despair and frustration overcome us but rather to turn to God’s Word and to God in faith to find the strength we need!

A new video advertisement for our booklet on Zechariah was produced by Pastor Michael Link, titled “The Book of Zechariah–Prophecies for Today.”

“Does Germany Have Nuclear Weapons?” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Many are inclined to deny this question off-hand, but are they correct? And if Germany has or has access to nuclear weapons, what would be the big deal? Would weak Angela Merkel’s far-too-cozy relationship with strong Vladimir Putin and their united rejection of American influence have any significance in this regard? What does God think?

“Prophetic Relevance of the US-Iran Conflict,” is the title of last week’s new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

The murder of an American contractor by an Iranian proxy; the subsequent American assassination of Iran’s General Soleimani; the following Iranian missile attack on two Iraqi bases housing US troops; and the almost simultaneous crash of an Ukrainian airline shortly after taking off from Tehran Airport have shown the world again how an outright war in the Middle East can break out. Threats and counter threats, as well as some news analysis, paint a picture which is very close to prophesied events as revealed in the Bible.

“Prophetische Bedeutung des US-Iran Konfliktes,” is the title of a new AufPostenStehen program, presented by Norbert Link. This covers the same topic as the StandingWatch program described above.

“War der Apostel Petrus der erste Papst?–Teil 4,” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “Was the Apostle Peter the First Pope?–Part 4.”

“Titel: Neues Jahr oder Neuer Mensch?” is the title of last Sabbath’s German sermonette, presented by Robert Kintzi. Title in English: “A new Year or a new Man?”

“The Keystone of the Kingdom,” the sermonette presented last Sabbath by Frank Bruno, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Over the centuries societies have taken great pride in the structures that their ancestors built and that they themselves build today. In some places construction includes buildings and large developments that cannot sustain themselves without elaborate and costly water, sewer and other necessary infrastructure that will soon be obsolete. There are also groups that seemingly dedicate their construction—the stones, bricks and mortar with rituals and rites that can strike anyone as odd. This is true of even large public projects right here in my home state of Colorado. Rather than focusing on finding ways to serve and honor God the Father, mankind has discovered more ways to establish and honor their own legacies. The community that we as believers await and work towards  is of course the coming Kingdom of God—The New Jerusalem, and the Keystone for the Kingdom is of course Jesus Christ. In this Sermonette we will explore scriptures that offer the clarity and the bedrock that our future will be built upon.

“The Work We Do,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Pastor Dave Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

We work for God. Our job title is servant, and the work we are to accomplish is our part in the work God is doing.

A Tech Team meeting was conducted last Sunday morning (January 4, 2020) via SKYPE. Eric Rank led the discussion with a focus on management of several aspects of our website (https://www.eternalgod.org/).

“War der Apostel Petrus der erste Papst?–Teil 3,” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “Was the Apostle Peter the First Pope?–Part 3”

“Das Märchen von Weihnachten,” the sermonette presented last Sabbath in Germany by Mario Danisch is now posted. Title in English: “The Tale about Christmas.”

“Prepared for Evil,” the sermonette presented last Sabbath by Robb Harris, is now posted.

“The Bad News and the Good News,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Eric Rank, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Our mortal nature is inherently flawed, making it impossible to live a life in perfect obedience to God. That’s the bad news. The good news is that God believes in us anyway. He is there to help us successfully overcome our imperfections so we can enjoy life eternally with Him as members of His Family.

We are very sad to announce that Nati Herbosa—a long-time Church of God member—died the afternoon of December 27, 2019. Her children were by her side, and her subsequent funeral took place in North Carolina.

“Putin’s Russia—the Overlooked Threat to World Peace,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Many don’t realize to what extent Russia is posing a threat to world peace; nor, that the Bible says that it will be involved in a nuclear war within the next few years. Vladimir Putin’s lies about the invasion of Poland and the beginning of World War II reveal a very dangerous mindset. So do his attempts to restrict and suppress online freedom of expression and his new hypersonic nuclear weapons.

“War der Apostel Petrus der erste Papst?–Teil 2,” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link.  Title in English: “Was the Apostle Peter the First Pope?–Part 2.”

“Economic Crash in 2020?–Comments on News and Prophecy (December 28, 2019),” the first message presented last Sabbath by Norbert Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Many speak about a booming economy, especially in the USA, but others speak of “the mother of all bubbles” and warn of a crash of unparalleled proportions in 2020 due to a broken and rotten economy which is only held together superficially on the surface. Who is right? Are we already in a worldwide recession, as some contend? How long can a country survive with a $1.4 trillion federal government spending package for 2020 and American spending of $1 trillion during the Christmas season of 2019? What does the Bible say about a coming worldwide depression and a total collapse of our global economy?

“Hope in the Kingdom of God,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Kalon Mitchell, is now posted. Here is a summary:

In what do we hope for? When we don’t have hope we can lose direction and desire to continue on our path. What happens when we don’t have hope in the Kingdom of God? What happens if we don’t continually keep our focus on this hope? We need to continue to keep focused so we stay motivated especially as the days are getting closer to the return of Christ.

“How our Wrong Values Destroy our Children,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Are the “values” which we teach our children in conformity with God’s standards? Sadly, in far too many cases, they are not! While German Roman Catholic bishops, Pope Francis, Protestant organizations, governments, politicians, educators and school teachers convey many ungodly principles on sex and other matters to our young people, YOU must know and teach them the Truth.

“War der Apostel Petrus der erste Papst?” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “Was the Apostle Peter the First Pope?”

“Vorsicht vor Ablenkungen” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermonette, presented by Michael Link. Title in English: “Careful with Distractions.”

“Ist Gottes Kirche eine Sekte?” is the title of last Sabbath’s German sermonette, presented by Mike Richter. Title in English: “Is God’s Church a Sect?”

“Are You Blessed by God?”, the sermonette presented last Sabbath by Dave Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

We should never forget all of the many blessings of God which come to us each and every day. But let’s also consider the BIG blessings of God—things which transcend our physical lives.

“A Light that Convicts,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Robb Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Our examples have the ability to be conduits for changing people’s hearts. That can be for either a positive or negative reaction. We cannot let the light of God’s Truth be reduced in brilliance or be put to shame because we allow ourselves to be led by our carnality. We are called to let our lights shine and we must be doing so at all times.

A new Member Letter (December 2019) has been written and mailed to our subscribers—and is available online. In this letter, Evangelist Norbert Link powerfully focuses on the year’s news events which are so clearly a part of end-time prophecies found in the Word of God.

What’s Ahead for 2020?” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

While preparing for Christmas and during all the Christmas celebrations, most people have lost sight for what has happened on the world scene in 2019 and how these events relate to the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. More of the same, and worse, can be expected for 2020.

“Was wird uns 2020 bringen?” is the title of a new AufPostenStehen program, presented by Norbert Link. This covers the same topic as described above.

“Tumult um den Dritten Tempel,” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “Tumult Regarding the Third Temple.”

“Gottes Wahrheit richtig verstehen und interpretieren,” is the title of last Sabbath’s German sermonette, presented by Thilo Hanstein. Title in English: Understand and Interpret God’s Truth Correctly.”

“Voice,” the sermonette presented last Sabbath by Michael Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

The example of Elijah in 1 Kings 19 teaches us a valuable lesson of how God communicates in various ways to get our attention, powerfully as well as in a more subdued fashion.

“Leave it to God,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Norbert Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Sometimes our life seems to be very complicated and hardly comprehensible, and we might only understand later why certain events occurred the way they did. God’s Ways are not our ways, and He guides our steps in a sometimes surprising and unexpected manner. This sermon shows how much God is concerned about us and that our life is indeed in His hands.

“Das Buch Sacharja—Prophezeiungen für die heutige Zeit!” is the title of a new German promo video, presented by Michael Link.

“Was die Bibel über den dritten Tempel vor Christi Rückkehr offenbart,” is the title of this Sabbath’s German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “What the Bible Reveals About the Third Temple Prior to Christ’s Return.”

“Der zweite Blick,” is the title of last Sabbath’s German sermonette, presented by Johann Schell. Title in English: “The Second Look.”

“Impeachment, Immigration and Indifference–Comments on News and Prophecy (December 7, 2019),” is the title of last Sabbath’s first message, presented by Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

The attempts to force President Trump out of office through the impeachment hoax will utterly fail. Through their ill-conceived biased political maneuverings, Democrats have guaranteed that Trump will be re-elected. From a spiritual standpoint, Trump will have to stay in power until he has fulfilled his providential role. What is that role, and how do our American immigration system, the building of a third temple in Jerusalem, a new holocaust and a nuclear war against the USA come into play? And why are Americans so indifferent as to what is going on?

“Words—Part 2,” is the title of last Sabbath’s sermon, presented by Brian Gale. Here is a summary:

This sermon is a continuation from the previous message and looks at seven more points – this time exclusively about God’s Word.

Mr. Bill Koeneke, a long-time Church of God member in the UK, has died at the age of 93. He had not been well for some time and had only recently been released from the hospital.

Why NATO Is Breaking Apart” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

How can we be so sure that NATO will not survive? We can get an inkling by reviewing the events during this week’s 70th anniversary celebration of the military alliance and the overall attitude of the American and German people towards NATO, but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

“Warum die Nato zerbrechen wird,”  the new German AufPostenStehen program,  was also posted; it covers the same topic as the English StandingWatch program.

“Wie man das schwache Gewissen (nicht) verletzt!” is the title of this Sabbath’s German sermon, presented by Norbert Link.  Title in English: “How (not) to Wound the Weak Conscience.”

“Das nächste Jahrzehnt wird eine Dekade der Extreme,” is the title of the sermonette presented last Sabbath in Germany by Manuel Müller. Title in English: “The Next Decade Will Be a Decade of Extremes.”

“I Will Give You Rest,” the sermonette presented last Sabbath by Eric Rank, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Living a Christian life in this day and age takes a lot of hard work. God promises rest, however, to those who are obedient to Him. How can we find rest in our lives now and in the future?

“It’s a Promise!” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Dave Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Can God heal—will He? Do we have the faith to be healed? Our part is to have faith and to keep on having faith—to trust God to do what He has promised.

Is Another Holocaust Coming Soon?” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

On November 9, 2019, the world remembered the “Kristallnacht” (“The Night of Broken Glass”) in Nazi Germany, leading to the Holocaust. Many fear that another Holocaust could happen, and recent events, opinion polls and governmental decisions seem to support this concern. Anti-Semitism is clearly on the rise throughout the world, including in Germany and continental Europe, the United Kingdom and the USA.

“Ein Mühlstein um Deinen Hals,” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “A Millstone Around Your Neck.”

Meeting Isaiah,” the sermonette presented last Sabbath by Frank Bruno, in now posted. Here is a summary:

For a person who has been called by God, the pathway to deeper learning and understanding can still be daunting. As our commitment to God and obedience to His commandments grow stronger, we can pray for help and understanding. This can come to us in the form of the Holy Spirit following our baptism. However, in order to grow in faith and to get to this point we must rely on the Bible—the complete Word of God. With God’s blessing, the Book of Isaiah offers a bridge between the Old and the New Testaments, enabling us to read and understand Scriptures that in the past may have seemed locked and confusing to us. Together we will consider several Scriptures that help us make this connection and better understand that the Bible is truly our road map to salvation.

Where is Peace?” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Eric Rank, is now posted. Here is a summary:

When we experience struggle, difficulty, and conflict in our lives, where can we find peace? What can we do to create more peace in our lives?

A new Member Letter (November 2019) has been written and mailed to our subscribers. In this letter, Pastor Dave Harris reminds us to look to exactly what it means to be called into the Truth of God.

A Ministerial Skype Meeting was conducted last Sunday morning (November 17, 2019). We established a date for next year’s Church Conference—Thursday, March 26, 2020, through Sunday, March 29, 2020—to be held in Escondido, California. Also, ministerial assignments for the 2020 Fall Holy Days were determined.

A new StandingWatch program was produced by Evangelist Norbert Link, titled, “How Near Is Christ’s Return?” Here is a summary:

One of the reasons that we know that Christ’s Second Coming is just around the corner is the fact that the Jews are anxious to build the third temple in Jerusalem. An interesting case in India might be used as compelling precedence for removing the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa mosque. America’s new policy stating that Israel’s settlements are not illegal was rejected by the EU and the Vatican and will also contribute to turmoil in the Middle East, especially in light of Israel’s plans to annex the Jordan Valley. Finally, the anointing by a Jewish Rabbi of President Trump as King constitutes for some the necessary fulfillment of a command in the Talmud, leading to the Coming of the Messiah.

“Was bedeutet es, keinen Anstoß zu geben?” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “What Does It Mean Not to Give Offense?”

“Wie wir jederzeit dankbar sein sollten,” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermonette, presented by Michael Link. Title in English: “How We Should Be Thankful At All Times.”

“President Trump’s Destiny — Comments on News and Prophecy (November 16, 2019),” is the title of last Sabbath’s commentary, presented by Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Some feel that President Trump is fulfilling a prophetic role in relationship to the state of Israel, which is similar to the role of Cyrus, King of Persia, who helped the Jews to build the Second Temple. They say that Trump will be used to help build the Third Temple, as a prerequisite for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.  Trump seems to believe this himself.

“Sermon – Words – Part 1:” is the title of last Sabbath’s sermon, presented by Pastor Brian Gale. Here is a summary:

This sermon looks at the importance of words, and explores seven areas where words impact on church members lives today.

A Tech Team Meeting was conducted via SKYPE this past Sunday morning (November 3, 2019). Hosted by Eric Rank, emphasis was given to improving sending out the Update. We also discussed posting Spanish translations on the Web and touched on other items regarding the upkeep of our websites. We have now created a new page for the Spanish language and posted several Spanish articles.

“Is Pope Francis the False Prophet of the Bible?” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link.

Here is a summary:

Quite a few assume that he is, while others are skeptical. This program will discuss the arguments for and against such conclusions in the light of most recent developments within the Catholic Church and some of Pope Francis’ statements which challenge long-held Catholic beliefs.

Pastor Rene Messier informed us that the French booklet on “Europe in Prophecy” has now been posted on the website.

Wie werden wir in der Auferstehung aussehen?” is the title of this Sabbath’s new German sermon, presented by Norbert Link. Title in English: “How Will We Look in the Resurrection?”

Die Charakterzüge eines Christen”, the sermonette presented last Sabbath in Germany by Christoph Sperzel, is now posted. Title in English: “Character Traits of a Christian.”

“What Do You Expect As a Christian?”, the sermonette presented last Sabbath by Kalon Mitchell, is now posted. Here is a summary:

As Christians living at this time and age, what is it that we expect? How do we view the things that are happening to us? How do we respond to the constant trials and tests that we are facing? What can we expect from God in regard to our calling and His promises? We need to have a clear understanding in these matters and make sure that we are not just hearers but also implementers so that we are not caught off guard.

How Boldly and Courageously Do You Talk with God?”, the sermon presented last Sabbath by Norbert Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

We ought to pray to God with boldness and with courage. We should be daring and vigorous in our expression.  This sermon shows examples of righteous people who spoke to God with boldness. But we must also be careful not to carry our “boldness” too far.
