In this issue, we report on the increasingly dire Brexit situation and Europe’s impatience with Great Britain. Please view our new StandingWatch program, “The End of the British Empire… Time to Let Britain Go!”

We speak on Angela Merkel’s astonishing admission of powerful European weapons systems; America’s fear of hostile military actions from Russia, China, North Korea and Iran; and Russia’s employment of missiles and troops close to the Ukrainian border. We also address the volatile situation in Venezuela and report on the controversial Iran deal.

We continue with articles analyzing President Trump’s first two years in office, fearing that “worse and crazier things are to come”; controversial reports and denials of the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia; and an attempt by President Trump to end the governmental shutdown by offering, among other proposals, three year DACA and TPS extensions in exchange for a border wall with Mexicowhich led to the immediate and expected rejection from uncooperative Democrats and mean-spirited attacks from rightwing anti-Immigrant Republicans. Further attempts by Republicans and Democrats to end the shutdown failed as well.

We conclude with articles on worldwide anti-Semitism and huge amounts of lost and wasted food in prosperous Canada.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

In this issue, we begin with reports about a possible attempt to delay the Brexit—the UK’s departure from the EU—on March 29 and address Theresa May’s expected humiliating defeat in the British Parliament and the “end” of the British Empire; speak on the historic French-German treaty of collaboration; and address the formation of a European army (see in this regard our new prophecy program, titled “Europe’s Army–Comments on News and Prophecy (January 12, 2019)”.

We continue with a deeply troublesome decision by the European Court of Human Rights, upholding Germany’s unconstitutional ban on homeschooling with most ridiculous arguments. This is just a continuation of ongoing European persecution of Jews and Christian minorities, as our most recent StandingWatch program discusses, titled, “Governmental Attacks on Jews and Christians in Europe”

We point out new threats of potential sanctions by the USA against German companies in context with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline; the fear that America has forsaken Europe and will forsake and thereby destroy NATO; address the ongoing historic shutdown in the USA, presenting a unique situation in Western democracies under an arguably outdated US Constitution; and discuss legal and practical issues pertaining to a declaration by the President of a “national emergency.”

We conclude with reports on the beginning of the withdrawal of American troops from Syria and President Trump’s warning, directed at both Turkey and the Kurds, as well as a deadly attack of “defeated” Isis on American troops in Syria.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

We begin with new developments pertaining to President Trump’s announcement to withdraw all American troops “immediately” from Syria, followed by a contradictory statement by John Bolton, which in turn prompted an angry response by Turkey.

We continue with President Trump’s fight for a border wall and the resulting ongoing partial government shutdown [please view our new StandingWatch program, titled, “How America Is Destroying Itself… Terrible Consequences of the Shutdown”] and the broken American health care system with its unique astronomical costs.

We address the increasingly hostile relationship between the Trump administration and the EU; and speak on the terrible consequences of America’s horrible nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands.

We report on another defeat of Theresa May in the British Parliament regarding Brexit and Germany’s strong warning that the EU will not accept a hard border between EU member state Ireland and Northern Ireland which is part of the UK.

We speak on a new law in parts of Belgium, dealing with the ritual slaughter of animals. This law, which is similar to laws in some European countries, has been described as anti-Semitic and as foreshadowing further persecution to come. We also address a violent and apparently politically motivated attack on a leader of the anti-immigrant German AfD party; Pope Francis’ warning against nationalism; and the interesting role of German cardinal Reinhard Marx.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

Please view our StandingWatch program in this regard, titled, “2019 in Prophecy.”  The same program was also produced in the German language, titled, “2019 in der Prophezeiung.”

We discuss most recent poll numbers regarding the prospects of impeaching President Trump (which will not happen); and conclude with changed perceptions of standards and Christian compromise in the pursuit of political power.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

Current Events

by Norbert Link

2018 ends with a bang, and the prospects for 2019 are even more grim. President Trump’s unilateral decision, announced by him on Twitter and without any prior consultation or warning, to admit defeat by withdrawing all troops from Syria (leaving the country to the mercy of the ruthless dictators of Russia, Turkey, Iran and Syria) and to withdraw half of the US troops from Afghanistan, combined with the resulting resignation of Defense Secretary General James Mattis (“the only adult left in the room”), have placed the world and especially a worried Europe on notice that the USA is a completely unreliable “partner” and that President Trump’s “unpredictable” and “chaotic” decisions “compel” the EU to create a unified army as soon as possible.

The next bombshell by the end of 2018 has been the partial shutdown of the US government (with wavering changes of mind by the American President) and fears of a global recession and the demise of the dollar.

We also warn of the growing fear and real danger of international cyber warfare; Putin’s alarming ambitions regarding the creation of a militaristic Russian Empire; and we speak on interesting developments in Germany; the collapse of the Israeli government; the mixed bag of Austria’s EU Presidency; and the devastating tsunami in Indonesia, reminding us of another tsunami several years ago—both of which happened during the Christmas season. We also report on the eruption of Italy’s most active volcano, Mount Etna.

We conclude with several eye-opening articles on Christmas and the Catholic Church.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

Current Events

As this is the last Update before Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2018, we selected a few articles to show you the complicated American history and sometimes frightening status of today’s Christmas celebrations by Christians and non-Christians alike. It is of course our position that we must not keep Christmas if we want to follow the teachings of the Bible. Please be sure to view our new StandingWatch program, “Does God Bless Our Christmas Celebrations?”

We also address, among other things, the White House’s highly controversial announcement to withdraw all troops from Syria; Turkish President Erdogan’s hypocritical words and actions; President Trump’s defeat on the issue of the border wall and his billion dollar gift to Mexico; the attempt of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to break away from Russia; American and German reactions (or the lack of them) to the murder of an American journalist by the Saudis; developments in Germany; Belgium and Italy; the intensifying fight for and against Brexit; and the perceived need for Europe to become an independent nuclear power bloc.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

Current Events

We begin with the election of Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer as the new leader of Germany’s biggest but strongly divided party, the CDU, thereby replacing Angela Merkel who will remain German Chancellor for the time being.

We continue with the ongoing Brexit chaos and the postponement of a vote in the British Parliament to approve Theresa May’s Brexit deal with the EU, which was almost certain to fail; as well as further unsuccessful attempts by May to re-negotiate her deal with the EU and her survival of a No-Confidence vote, within her own party, by a slim margin.

We speak on the willful ignorance of many in light of a coming World War; increasing arms sales and the power of the euro; the violent demonstrations in Paris over tax and other issues; a terrorist attack in France; and the collapse of the Belgium government over immigration issues. We also point out ongoing frictions between the EU and the USA.

In this context, please view our new StandingWatch program, USA and EU on Collision Course.”

We address further controversial developments regarding Donald Trump and strong criticism from unsuspected sources; and we address anti-Semitism in Europe; the dead Israeli-Palestinian “peace” treaty; and the ongoing desire and preparation to build a Third Temple in Jerusalem.

We conclude with Josef Stalin’s belief that Adolf Hitler survived World War II; radioactive wolves in Chernobyl; ridiculous reactions of a school principal and parents to a teacher telling students the truth about the fairy tale of Santa Claus; as well as the desire of many Jews to keep Christmas.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

We report on the world’s reaction to the death of former US President George H.W. Bush and point out his historical role regarding Germany’s reunification, while quoting from one of our older Updates from 2009. Please view our most recent StandingWatch program, titled, “George H.W. Bush and the German Reunification”.

We also speak on the CIA assessment that Prince Mohammed of Saudi Arabia was responsible for the murder of an American journalist.

We address the magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Alaska and the warning signs for California [Please view our recent StandingWatch program, “Is California’s Big Earthquake About to Strike?”]. We address events in France, including the passing of a controversial law prohibiting corporal punishment for children. We also speak on the ongoing violent demonstrations in Paris.

We give an update on the volatile and more and more confusing Brexit debacle; report on attempts and intrigues by German politicians to replace Angela Merkel; publish a frightening article of murderous right-wing radicals in the German army; the insensitive, if not intentionally offensive conduct of the German Interior Ministry towards Muslims and others; and developments pertaining to the Catholic Church, including the huge sexual abuse scandal; conflicting messages by Pope Francis pertaining to homosexuality; and the remarkable developments of a coming collaboration between the Vatican and Arabs against Israel.

We conclude with articles confirming the biblical account of man’s creation; the quest for the Ark of the Covenant (referring to one of our Q&As discussing this matter in detail); and ongoing preparations for the building of the prophesied third temple. In this regard, please view our recent StandingWatch programs, “Netanyahu’s Announcement of a Third Temple?” and “Ancient and Modern Beliefs in the Third Temple”

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

Current Events

We focus on Britain’s political chaos due to a controversial Brexit “deal,” which was agreed to by Britain and the EU last Sunday, but which is feared to fail in the British Parliament in early December (please also view our StandingWatch program, “What the BIBLE Says on the Brexit Debacle” and the latest edition of our new feature, “Comments on News and Prophecy (November 24, 2018)” We also report on interesting consequences from Brexit, such as a deteriorating relationship between the UK and the US, and the creation of a European army.

We continue with different viewpoints of Americans and Germans and quote comments by Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron and Martin Schulz, advocating the creation of a sovereign United States of Europe; speak on the lost lessons of World War I; and quote Hillary Clinton’s controversial statements on European immigration which even Democrats wished she would not have made.

We warn of a renewed conflict between Russia and Ukraine (please view our new StandingWatch program, “How Will the New Russian-Ukrainian Conflict Be ‘Solved’? speak about valid concerns that Saudi Arabia, under its ruthless and murderous Crown Prince, wants to build a nuclear bomb with inadvertent American assistance; as well as European arms embargos on Saudi Arabia, pointing out the tragic irony in light of biblical prophecy. We also speak on the “humanitarian crisis” at the US-Mexico border and the economic costs to the US for temporarily closing parts of the border; and the status of California’s wildfires.

We conclude with a dire report on climate change by the Trump Administration which is at odds with the President in many respects; and with Russia’s “joke” on questioning the American moon landing, thereby bringing to mind the many ridiculous conspiracy theories or “fake news,” which are quite popular in Russia and Europe.

Throughout this section, we have underlined pertinent statements in the quoted articles, for the convenience and quick overview of the reader.

We focus again on the prophesied European desire to build a real army (please view our recent StandingWatch program, “Coming—A European Empire with a Real Army; address the perceived need for Europe’s prophesied (final) “revival” in light of alleged American “threats”; and we speak on Europe’s and China’s dissatisfaction with America’s financial power and Europe’s attempts to circumvent US sanctions against Iran.

We continue with the fear of an economic collapse in the USA; Britain’s political chaos due to a controversial proposed Brexit “deal” between Britain and the EU which is expected to fail; address the uncertain future of Benjamin Netanyahu; and focus on the questionable “friendship” between Germany and Israel, which never really existed in the first place. We also talk about increasing anti-Semitism in Europe and address the debunked “Alternative Temple Theory,” falsely claiming the Second Temple was not built on the Temple Mount. This has of course great consequences for the location of the massive Third Temple which the Bible shows WILL BE BUILT prior to Christ’s Second Coming. For PROOF, please read our free booklet, The Fall and Rise of the Jewish People.

We speak on a (temporary) legal defeat for President Trump regarding immigration and the ongoing war between President Trump and the “fake” media which has been famously labeled as “the enemy of the people”; continue with Trump’s highly controversial decision pertaining to Saudi Arabia; the shocking news that half of Americans and over 70 percent of conservatives consider themselves nationalists; report on California’s new perils; and ask the question whether the horrible massacre at Jonestown, Guyana, which occurred 40 years ago, could happen again.
